It’s our way of making an affordable African safari a reality, without compromising the quality or authenticity of the experience.
We’re 100% African and we work directly with Africans: we don’t sell our safaris to overseas agents so that they can add a commission (sometimes as much as 30%) and then resell those same African safaris to you. With SSA, you deal direct with the very people providing you with safari experiences. All the money you pay for your safari is paid to Africa and stays in Africa, supporting local economies and contributing to long-term sustainability. That’s part of what makes our model not just responsible, but a true affordable African safari option for travellers seeking meaningful experiences.
We have the biggest range of sustainable African safaris in the world at SSA. We go out of our way to find the smaller operators, offering the most unique safaris and who don’t have huge marketing budgets. So we don’t now and we won’t ever charge our safari operators to list with us: we will NEVER charge a subscription or listing fee.
When you buy a safari through SSA, we charge the safari operator just 10% of the cost of that safari to cover our costs in running the site and presenting you with the most sustainable African safaris. This keeps everything transparent and ensures your investment supports the people on the ground, while giving you access to an affordable African safari tailored to your interests.
When it comes to selecting a safari, particularly a sustainable one, the choices are so vast that we find our travellers quickly get overwhelmed. We will never charge you for our time in listening to your wish list and giving you ways to make your dreams come true.
